Getting that straight smile you’ve always wanted couldn’t be easier or more affordable. To make your smile journey as effortless as possible, read our 5 prep tips.

1- Be up to date on your dental work.

Before your SnapCorrect Truly Invisible Aligners are made, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire about your dental health and medical history. This helps our dental team in verifying that you are current on all dental work and that you are a good candidate for our aligners. If you have not had a dental visit in the last 6 months or have not had x-rays done in the past year, don’t wait until the last minute to get up to date.

2- Get ready for all of your aligners.

Your Truly Invisible Aligners, retainer, and whitening products are all sent to you in one shipment. They are shipped ‘signature required’, so make sure that someone will be home to sign for them, or that you are shipping them to an address where you will be at the time of delivery. You will receive tracking information, so you can plan ahead for the delivery date. (But don’t worry, if you miss the postal carrier, they will leave you a note on where they will be kept safe and sound, so you can pick them up personally)

3- Put together a travel dental kit.

The aligners are worn for two weeks each, for 20-22 hours per day. When you take them out to eat, make sure to brush your teeth and your aligners before putting them back in. Having a travel-sized toothbrush, toothpaste and floss is great to use for this when you are out and about. So plan ahead and get one before you start your aligner treatment.

4- Do not use the aligners as a night guard.

If you wear a night guard at night to prevent grinding your teeth, you will still need to wear one with the aligners. Most pharmacies sell night guards that are not molded to your teeth. These will protect both your teeth and your aligners.

5- Keep your smile in place with your free Truly Invisible Retainer.

The first aftercare retainer is included for free with your Truly Invisible Aligners. Once you are finished with treatment, it is very important to wear your SnapCorrect retainer all the time for a few months, before tapering off to wearing it only at night. There is no set standard, but our dental team recommends wearing it all the time for at least 4 months. The longer you wear the retainer, the less likely your teeth will be to relapse.
